What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a safe, gentle, yet powerful healing art that works with spiritual energy to promote healing and change on all levels–physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Reiki helps to deeply relax the body, reducing stress and promoting wellness without using pressure, manipulation, or massage. The word Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words: Rei, meaning spiritual or transcendent, and ki, meaning energy or life force. Reiki is a natural healing system that is a modern approach to ancient healing traditions, and is a wonderful adjunct to Western medicine.
What to Expect in a Reiki session

Your physical and mental comfort is very important to me, and so we’ll begin our session with a conversation during which we’ll get to know each other, discuss your health history and reasons for coming, and set the intention for the session. We’ll also discuss a possible treatment plan for going forward. I’ll explain the hand positions I’ll be using and answer any questions you may have about our session. A typical session will last about 1–1¼ hours, with the initial session lasting about 1½ hours.
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your Oasis Reiki session. During the session you will lie fully clothed on a massage table, covered by a light blanket, with relaxing music playing in the background. The practitioner will place her hands lightly on or above specific areas of your body usually for about 2–5 minutes, but possibly longer. You may experience warmth, tingling, emotional release, and/or a sense of deep relaxation as you allow the soothing Reiki energy to flow into your body, helping to return your system to its natural state of harmony and wholeness. Every Reiki session is different, since the needs of the client determine the nature of the experience.
Pricing: Oasis Reiki sessions are $75 per session.
Animal Reiki

Animals are naturally drawn to Reiki. They recognize the healing inherent in the soothing energy and will often seek it out when in need. As with humans, Reiki promotes wellness and relaxation for animals on all levels of being, and is a wonderful complement to veterinary medicine. A session with your pet will be shorter than with yourself, and the animal decides how long it will be, often leaving the space when they’ve drawn enough for the session. Some animals prefer to receive Reiki from a short distance away, as if the energy feels too intense when hands are placed on them directly. Again, your pet will determine the method used for the session. As with humans, spending a few minutes getting to know each other is an important part of the session. Reiki sessions with your animal are held in your home, since your pet will be more relaxed there.
Pricing: Oasis Animal Reiki sessions are $35 for most pets.
